As part of the health class curriculum at Kirkwood High School, students learn about wellness and are challenged to make healthy choices and lifestyle decisions. To emphasize the point on the effects of tobacco use and create awareness about the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout campaign, the health department at KHS has invited cancer survivor Don Young to come speak to health classes on Thursday, November 17.
Stuart Slavin, M.D., M.Ed. is Associate Dean for Curriculum and Professor of Pediatrics at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. A graduate of Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Slavin completed his residency training in pediatrics at UCLA and then served as a faculty member there for 17 years before returning to Saint Louis.
